When a company’s name keeps crossing my radar, asked about by subscribers I respect, mentioned on social media, and popping up on Bloomberg screens I don’t ignore it. I dig until I understand what it’s all about. That’s how dLocal (DLO) landed on my desk. Most analysts brush it off as “just another LatAm processor.” They’re probably wrong. This is Stripe and Adyen transplanted into the hardest markets on earth, the toll booth for Netflix in Lagos, Uber in São Paulo, Amazon in Jakarta. And that makes it one of the most fascinating payment businesses I’ve studied.

If you’re not premium, we’ll catch you next time.
